Does massage only give your shoulder & neck pain temporary relief? Pain and tightness at the base of the neck can feel muscular, but the most common cause of stiff, sore shoulders is actually joint restriction. When we spend a lot of time with our head craned forward (or stressed), spinal joints and rib joints can get jammed or irritated, and this makes the local shoulder muscles tighten up in a kind if protective manner. Massage will only give temporary relief to this type of shoulder soreness and tightness. But loosening and releasing the restricted neck & upper back joints can give quick relief. So here’s a great way of releasing those joints.
