Hair transplant journey for our patient who kindly made this time lapse by taking daily pictures of himself from his procedure to 11 months post operative. Sometimes when we put before and after pictures side by side it is difficult to show the actual process from the grafts initially shedding and then the growth phase and hair thickening. This video demonstrates this perfectly and so we are grateful to the our patient who shared this. This patient underwent FUE hair transplant with Dr Arshad in our Leeds clinic and he is over the moon with the results! Considering he was a NW 7 (advanced hair loss) the after picture is remarkable - the video time lapse shows the importance of being patient. Only after around 9 months does the hair thicken. Sometimes in the crown it can take up to 18 months for the hair to grow and mature. Patience is the key! We always advise patient to come back and see us at 12 to 18 months. Sometimes with advanced hair loss patients may undergo further surgery to increase the density but this patient was ecstatic about the density achieved. This patient is taking oral minoxidil (2.5mg daily) and oral finasteride (1mg daily). It is perfectly safe for patients to dye their hair following a hair transplant as this patient did.
