This virtual policy forum examined the stress and social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on those suffering with substance use disorders (SUD) and the ways in which treatment strategies and mechanisms have changed. Topics explored included the future of hospital-based peer recovery programs in light of the continuing access restrictions in health care facilities, how the pandemic has been felt by the populations in underserved communities who struggle with addiction, and opportunities for multi-sector collaboration to meet these challenges in light of daunting fiscal realities.
