Hey guys, Dr. Wong here with Next Level Physical Therapy. Today, I'm going to be talking all about how to get rid of that nagging neck pain after you slept wrong.

We all know how important sleep is to your overall health. Unfortunately, sometimes you wake up with nagging neck pain where you have trouble turning your head side to side or tipping it down.

BEST EXERCISES FOR NECK PAIN FROM A BAD SLEEP
0:00 Intro
0:27 First Exercise (Upper Trap Contract Relax)
1:13 Second Exercise (Right Trap Exercise)
1:39 Third Exercise (Levator Scapulae Muscle)
2:13 Aggressive Version of the Third exercise
2:24 Fourth Exercise
2:51 Fifth Exercise
3:16 Sixth Exercise

So, what I want to do is show you six exercises to do to not only restore your neck mobility but also decrease your pain.

The first exercise is the upper trap contract relax. The upper trap is a muscle that starts from the base of your skull and attaches to the top of your shoulder blade.

Another muscle that can get achy or sore is the levator scapula. This muscle runs from the base of your skull down to the tip of the corner of your shoulder blade.

The second exercise is towel extension mobilization. What you need is a long towel and you put it around your neck.

The third exercise is called a flexion contract relax. This is a way to relax the muscles behind.

And next is rotation towel stretch, this is an effective way to stretch your sternocleidomastoid muscle, which runs from the back of your neck to your collarbone. It is especially beneficial for neck rotation.

If you suffer from neck pain due to sleeping wrong, give these exercises a try and see which ones work best for you. And if you found this video helpful, please consider subscribing to the channel so you don't miss out on their weekly videos. Remember, always move better and age stronger.
