One common mistake I see…

Balance training stops at being able to stand on one leg 🤦🏽‍♀️

How often do you lose your balance standing on one leg and thinking about nothing else? 🤔

Balance can be incredibly important to support arthritic joints- but you will find more pain relief but adding in more balance challenges 👀

It can be a way to increase your pain relief especially if you are feeling stuck with your current exercise routine ✅

Even adding a balance movement or two while brushing your teeth, cooking, waiting in line, etc can be a great place to make some gains ✅

“Takacs et al. in their study reported that dynamic balance training exercises benefitted OA knee patients by the significant reduction in pain, kinesiophobia, and improvement in their physical function”

“He-Sang et al. also found that patients with moderate and severe OA demonstrate increased balance deficits than those with mild OA” (Krishnan and Pithadia, 2021)

Balance is incredibly important for arthritis! But standing in one leg may not be enough to elicit the right muscles and challenge them@enough to make gains ☝🏽

Adding a few challenges like these can help@take it to the next step. Do master the basic s first before progressing though 🙌🏼
